Panos, Palcos novos, palavras novas, 2008
PANOS is a project from Culturgest in partnership with the program Connections by the National Theatre of London. Every year several theatre pieces of 1hr are commissioned to be played by student theatre companies with participants between 12 and 18 years old, with no thematic restrictions.(…)
In 2008 this project has received a special mention by the Portuguese Association of Critics and the Prize Santareno. Several writers have written for this project such as Hélia Correia, Jacinto Lucas Pires, Armando Silva Carvalho, Alexandre Andrade, Patrícia Portela, Luísa Costa Gomes, Tiago Rodrigues, Miguel Castro Caldas, André Teodósio (Teatro Praga), Rui Cardoso Martins, Margarida Vale de Gato, Rui Costa, Filipe Homem Fonseca, Alex Cassal, Pedro Mexia, Lola Arias, Rui Catalão, Sandro William Junqueira e Gonçalo M. Tavares. E traduziram-se textos de Mark Ravenhill, Ali Smith, Letizia Russo, Dennis Kelly, Abi Morgan, Lisa McGee, Katori Hall, Rory Mullarkey, Davey Anderson e Lucinda Coxon.”
Patrícia Portela has written Human Shields for the edition of 2008 and has translated the text by Lucinda Coxon in 2013. Her text was translated into Hungarian in an anthology of Portuguese dramaturges.
